The next time you pop into The Gary Cooper, take a moment to absorb your surroundings and enjoy the artwork on display. You will currently see the work of Katherine Shircore who completed the Foundation Diploma in Art and Design at Dunstable College. The work presented here is from her White and System projects. For the White project, Katherine produced intricate ‘paper’ textiles; these were then developed into interior fabrics.
For the System project Katherine explored the patterns found in weather systems. Using them for inspiration she produced these textile pieces which were developed into floor standing sculptures. Katherine achieved a distinction grade.
The Gary Cooper will be displaying various works of art from the College’s art and design students in rotation, so keep an eye out for the changing displays.
